New results highlighted at Hard Probes and DIS 2023!

The Rice group has presented exciting new results from the CMS experiment at this week’s Hard Probes and DIS 2023 conferences.

On the first day of Hard Probe 2023, Austin has given a plenary talk on the latest experimental status of electroweak probes, summarizing exciting recent results in the field.

The new result on the coherent J/ψ production in ultraperipheral PbPb collisions, led by JiaZhao and Zaochen, has shown a surprising trend on how gluons inside Pb nuclei behave as Bjorken x->0 and is a highlight of the conferences. The paper has been submitted for publication: arXiv:2303.17532.

Yousen has presented new result on the multiplicity dependence of charm baryon to meson production in proton-lead collisions. Surprisingly, no strong dependence in the charm sector is observed, as opposed to strong enhancement seen in the light flavor sector, which has been interpreted as the effect of a quark-gluon medium.
